is cronyism, and yes it has been in both parties. Wealth redistribution is something else entirely. It isnt wealth redistribution if those receiving the money are the ones paying the taxes in the first place.
The socialist cancer within the democrat party has been growing for the better part of the last 100 years. They learned that they could never hold power unless they ran as democrats and pitched socialism via appeal-to-emotion sloganeering, and that was 50+ years ago. They haven't got worse at it, in fact they have become so good at it that they have americans convinced that it isnt even socialism anymore, that it is actually policy consistent with American principles which it absolutely is not. There is no gray area in that.I could link you video clip after video clip of democrats regurgitating socialist and keynesian principles one after another but I doubt it will make the slightest difference to you if you are dead set on never being able to take sides with the other side due to your pre-conceived notions of what they are and represent. The republican party is in the process of getting purged, fixed, restored, call it whatever you want. Voters are kicking out the people and the philosophies who ruined that party's once good name generations ago, the democrats however are staying very true to the ideologies that got them the lock on power they have had in the federal government for 58 of the last 65 years. It is only when they are given an unstoppable majority that they cannot package their politics with carefully crafted slogans and speechwriting. the race-baiting, class warfarism, demagoguing, all loses it luster completely when their desires cannot hide from the light of day.
